How to remove a client company from your agency subscription
Last updated July 7, 2026
When a client leaves your accounting services, there are three paths for their CostPocket account: hand it over to the client, park it on a free plan, or delete it completely.
Option 1. The client keeps using CostPocket independently
- Go to Settings > Billing and change the billing recipient to the client's company.
- Go to Settings > Users and make the client's representative an admin of the account.
The client now fully manages the account, and future invoices go directly to them.
Option 2. The client stops using CostPocket but keeps the archive
If the client stops using CostPocket but wants to retain access to previously submitted documents and the option to resume later:
- Transfer ownership as in Option 1.
- Switch the plan to Robo Free in Settings > Billing β no further invoices are issued until a paid plan is chosen again.
Option 3. Delete the account entirely
To completely delete the client's account and all submitted documents from the CostPocket system, contact support@costpocket.com.
Reminder: documents are otherwise archived for 7 years β deletion is irreversible, so confirm with the client that they have exported anything they need.
Frequently asked questions
Will the client lose their documents when I transfer the account? No β transferring billing and admin rights changes who manages and pays for the account; all documents stay in place.
Does a Robo Free account cost anything? No. It keeps the archive accessible at no charge until the client chooses a paid plan again.
